Most competitor 3-Bolt mount disposers don’t feature a removable splash guard.

Most competitor splash guards cannot be easily removed or replaced. In order to remove their splash guard from most of their models, the competitors’ disposer has to be removed from the mounting assembly and, if necessary, the plumbing must first be disconnected. With a removable splash guard, it is very easy to lift out and clean the splash guard. Bad odors often arise from a disposer when bacteria growth in the ground food waste accumulates under the splash guard. When consumers own a disposer without a removable splash guard, they are usually unaware that offensive odors are caused by the collection of food particles under the splash guard itself. They might discover this only if, for some reason, they stick their hand in the disposer and wipe the bottom of the splash guard with the back of their hand as they pull it out. With the removable splash guard, finding and removing dropped items is a very easy step. With the removable splash guard, the user has the option to remove the splash guard and utilize the larger hole for large batches of food waste. They can then replace the splash guard to operate the disposer.

The magnetic Silver Guard® attachment captures most metal objects before they enter into the disposer chamber. This protective feature helps prevent damage to valuable cutlery. It also helps prevent damage to the disposer as well as expensive repairs caused by metal objects falling into the disposer.
