Back before the rise of mega retailers, nearly every small town had a thriving business district. It might have been just a block or two long, but you could find one side of the street with a hardware store, a bank, a candy store, a drug store with a soda fountain (banana splits in town), and maybe a shoe store (mandatory for back-to-school).

Across the street might be a clothing retailer, a handyman repair shop, and a dress shop. Other retailers vying for attention might be a sporting goods shop (fishing a specialty), a toy and hobby shop, produce store, or maybe an Italian bakery where goodies were made fresh daily!

These scenes evoke memories of small-town life in a place everyone knew pretty much everyone else, smiled and doffed their hats, and if you got up to mischief, you mom know about it before you got back home.

Easy to fit on your layout!

The low relief design allows for placement on even a small layout. They won’t take up a lot of space and they will look great in the center of the railroad, or even as a scenic detailing against the wall.
