No. A subscription is not required for your camera to work. Without a subscription, you will continue to receive notifications when motion is detected and be able to view live video feed. A subscription is required to maintain premium features.
2. Can I remove the battery in my Essential Outdoor Camera XL (2nd Gen)?
No. The battery in your Essential Outdoor XL Camera (2nd Gen) is fully integrated and cannot be removed. You can recharge the camera with the indoor charging cable that is included with the camera.
3. Are the Essential Outdoor XL Cameras (2nd Gen) completely wire-free?
Yes. The Essential Outdoor XL Cameras (2nd Gen) are fully wire-free and powered with an integrated battery. However, purchase extra accessories like Essential Solar Panel (2nd Gen) and Essential Outdoor Charging Cable (2nd Gen) to charge your camera.
4. Is this camera compatible with Apple Home or Arlo SmartHub and Base Stations?
Not yet. The Arlo team is working to support both Apple Home and Arlo SmartHub (VMB5000, VMB4540, VMB4000, and VMB4500) compatibility for Essential Outdoor XL Cameras (2nd Gen).
5. In which countries can I use this camera?
This camera is for use in US only. However, you will be able to access and control your camera remotely from anywhere with the Arlo Secure App.
